Once again, I thank Matt Wellek for introducing me/us to Peerless. This company is high on my list of favorite whiskeys and comes second to last on this tasting adventure. Peerless is so good it made two entries into this year’s calendar!

Today we are tasting a double oak Kentucky bourbon. It comes in at 108.5 Proof. The bottle is a deep copper.

The nose opens with a sweet oak accented with orange and cedar I also get a bit of Maple.

The palette on first sip is brown sugar, which shifts to cinnamon and spicy oak. There is an amazing body to this product. I get a bit of leather and earth. (Again I speak of dirt.) and again, I say this is not a bad thing.

The finish has an amazing mouthfeel. It has notes of dry cocoa, maple, and a honey sweetness. I can't say enough about the mouth feel. It is such an amazing bottle.

Overall, Peerless is amazing. Everything I have tried has been transcending. Enough said. I hope it blows your mind as much as it did mine. Please let me know what you think in the comments. One more to go….

We must have been extra special good this year to get two Peerless drams this year! Overall this one might be my top choice for the year. I love the color and it has the most unique/peculiar finish, something I attribute to the double oak nature of this beast. It's almost like bitter coco or a cedar/wood taste.

Oh, I wanted to love this. And I am not saying that if you pour me a dram of this that I would turn it away. It has some very nice qualities. The aroma is gorgeous. But there is a really bitter finish (maybe it's what you described as cedar), that I really do not love. Maybe I am still thinking about the last bottle. That one set my heart pitter-pattering.

Not gonna lie, had a few basil hadens this eve at a holiday party, so my tase buds are a little wonky. This is tasty with a full flavor blend. Little heat, little sweetness, all tasty.

O Peerless, thou hast not forsaken thee! We're back in the house we met up at this year and I'm here for it. It's dark. It's moody. It's ready to turn on me when I least expect it. But it's also refined. It's got a quick wit and a biting tongue. And I feel like its love is never promised. No, Meliza, I'm not talking about Raquel here...it's the Double Oak Bourbon from them Peerless Boys! Good thing I had my suit pants waiting for me like Sam Rothstein in "Casino" from Day 1 of Whisky Christmas 2024: I had to start dressing better just to gaze upon the perfect color of this bourbon. I can never go back from…
