WELCOME! We hope you enjoy the experience, and we're definitely looking forward to hearing your thoughts as you imbibe your way through the tastings.

Long ago, in the summer of 2019, a few of us attended the Craft Spirits Carnival at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio. It was a great day of friends, cigars, and craft spirits.
My big take away from that day was the Garrison Brothers line of Whiskey. In my mind it was the standout, so it only seems appropriate to start with it.
This nose is sweet corn, green apple, and rice pudding. The first sip is sweet vanilla, almonds, and caramel apple, followed by a rich and creamy cinnamon spice finish.
The sweet profile of caramel and vanilla jumps out when this is poured over ice, but it is better enjoyed when poured neat.
Enjoy!
I really liked this one. I'm a bit late to this, and not much of a super taster but here're my notes. On the nose, I was getting caramel, molasses, vanilla and oak. With a little water, I started get this spice taste maybe a little peat, definitely like the sweet heather of a Macallan Highland scotch.
Loved the Garrison Brothers whiskey. Looking forward to tasting all the other ones. We’re a day behind, truth be told, but it won’t be hard to catch up I don’t think.
Thank you very much for this great gift and such a fabulous idea!
Cheers - Deborah & Alex
Paul and Meliza, Thank you so much for the generous gift. As you know I am new to the bourbon world. I liked day 1 a lot, seemed to have a stronger flavor to me.
Looking forward to the days ahead!
Cheers to you Paul and Meliza! This is a great idea. I was surprised by whiskey #1. My first impressions of "aromatics" were vanilla-butter-caramel and some other quality I couldn't put a name to. My first taste was a surprise. I found what I believe is peatiness. My lack of regular tasting experience made me wonder if I were drinking Scotch. The second pass was all smoothness with a buttery quality that eased away intense heat or flame. I originally thought a whiskey from Texas would be bold with leather, tobacco and smoked mesquite. But this was laid back pleasure. My regret is I have to wait until day #2.
Well, so far so good. Thank you all for the feedback. It was fun putting this together. One day down. 12 more to go!! Cheers and Merry Christmas.
