This 94-proof straight bourbon whiskey is produced by a father and son team in Kentucky.
I found this bottle to be very rich and sweet. The color is a very light amber.
The nose is raisin and buttery caramel. The palette is very smooth, it's a bit herbaceous in the start then opens to a honey and vanilla. I think this is a very corn driven sweetness.
The finish is a fresh and woody. I taste cinnamon and creamsicle.
I find this to be a very respectable bottle. I hope you do as well.

Blind taste I predicted high proof bourbon so happy with that guess. A bit sweet for me. This would be a solid after dinner dessert replacement. Dipping my cigar in this also feels like a strong pairing!
I found Wathen's to be a very comforting. Something to go back to at the end of a day.
So...I'm also a bagpiper. And, as a piper, three things are essential: 1. Clear airways 2. Lubricated oral cavity (let's say lips, mouth, cheeks, face muscles) 3. Ability to drink, play, drink, play again, drink more in a crowded bar Now, I suddenly find myself in the position to be able to solve for all those essential elements of successful bagpiping (bagpipery? bagpippage?) in one bottle! I now just need to make space in my bagpipe go-bag for a bottle of Wathen's Single Barrel. Thanks Paul!
I caught a hint of candied berry on the finish. This is fun.
Smoothest one yet. Goes down very easy. Not too complex but not simple either. This too makes me think of an everyday kind of whiskey.
